Job Summary:
Samsung Internet seeks a Business Development professional with an MBA and experience understanding how browser solutions can be leveraged to increase consumer engagement and interactivity with key partners of Samsung. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for leveraging Samsung Internet’s platform, developer tools, and APIs to create compelling solutions for key industry partners across a variety of verticals such as sports, commerce/shopping, search, news, and social media.

This candidate will be responsible for establishing and mining a pipeline of opportunities including:

  • Creating a funnel of strategic partnerships for Samsung Internet
  • Establishing relationships with key partners, and driving solutions that enhance user engagement
  • Evolving business models to drive Samsung Internet’s growth

The candidate will build and leverage relationships using deep insight on how browser assets can be leveraged by strategic partners. The partner will be expected to work closely with Samsung Internet’s product teams to understand the full range of technical assets available, as well as to influence the roadmap through consultative selling, and understanding the needs and wants of the content community.  The Director of Business Development will be expected to not only drive revenue, but also to increase the overall user engagement KPIs of Samsung Internet through strategic partnerships.

Passionate about enhancing mobile data services, the candidate will help us analyze the best opportunities to increase engagement by content providers and consumers.

Strategic-minded, goal-driven, with good process execution skills and quantitative background to drive analysis, the candidate will drive initiatives with external partners, and maintain strong relationships.

The candidate will help drive the vision, to anticipate industry trends, to be ahead of the competition in all aspects.  They will be comfortable working in a start-up living within a larger company.  Must not be afraid to use the phone to reach out to partners or internal stakeholders or go in the field to support some of our sales effort.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Analyze how Samsung Internet’s assets can be leveraged to increase engagement with content community
  • Assess and establish pipeline of potential partners
  • Create business case and lead negotiation on all deal terms with partners
  • Influence internal roadmap to meet the needs of clients
  • Socialize key deal terms with product teams and management
  • Oversee implementation and go-to-market following conclusion of the agreement
  • Manage all strategic relationships, including KPIs, partner reviews
  • Socialize plan with management ahead of time
  • Meet and exceed targets at all times
  • Be seen as a leader, internally and externally

Qualifications and Skills:
The candidate brings proven experience leveraging browser assets to drive engagement, and revenue.  A deep understanding of the competitive mobile browser ecosystem is essential to success.

  • 10+ years’ strategy, strategic business development, and relationship management
  • Very familiar with browsers and value add features available in the market
  • Good commercial mindset, with budget, P&L experience, and ability to build business cases
  • (MBA) post-graduate degree is required.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence internally and externally
  • Build relationships across all segments within the client's organization
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external resources and cross-functional teams
  • Strong strategy planning, deal term formulation that establishes value for all sides
