Job Summary:
Software Engineer:
The Software Engineer develops software solutions to enhance Samsung Pay mobile payment application. Specific duties include:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of backend service and backend administrative APIs for Samsung Pay System User Management, Giftcard and Membership card related features using OSGi, Apache Thrift, Gradle, RxJava;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Samsung Pay System User Management, Giftcard and Loyalty project database using Cassandra;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the RESTful Web Service using Spring and Spark with build tools as Maven, Gradle;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Samsung Pay Administrative Portal using Spark framework and jQuery, React with build tool Gradle;
  • Coordinate with Samsung Pay Operations team, Mobile development team and QA team to identify issues and provide solutions;
  • Write excellent Java, HTML, JavaScript, CSS code;
  • Understand the needs, problems, and expectations of both our customers and of the Samsung Pay Operations team and take action to meet those needs;
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that deliverables are technically accurate and useful and produced in a timely manner;
  • Identify critical activities & tasks on projects, help with estimation and planning, ensure timely and accurate communication of status, resolution of issues, and contribute beyond assigned tasks;
  • Infrequent (up to 10% of time) domestic travel for business meetings may be required.
  • Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or foreign degree equivalent plus 2 years of experience with software design and development of mobile payment applications.

The experience (which may be gained concurrently) must include:

  • 1 year of experience with each of the following: Java programming, Versioning control tools (Git), Bamboo, RESTful APIs design and OSGi;
  • Experience using testing tool JUnit;
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development process;
  • Experience with JavaScript and modern front-end JavaScript frameworks;
  • Asynchronous programming experience and multi-thread programming knowledge;
  • Experience with OSGi bundle and Remote Procedure Call API.
