Samsung Pay Inc. seeks a goal-driven, inspiring Director Financial Institutions focused on growth and strategic partnerships within financial institutions.  This team is responsible for bringing new financial institutions onto Samsung Pay in the US and growing the Samsung Mobile Services business through partnerships with financial institutions.  In this role, you will balance your strategic approach and operational excellence; leverage your established network of key decision makers; focus on the myriad of components to build winning solutions; and overcome all obstacles to drive usage of Samsung Pay.  Bring your mobile payments expertise and deep industry point-of-view and collaborate with a group of diverse and talented individuals.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Challenge the status quo, surface new opportunities, and lead with facts and numbers that quantify opportunities.
  • Negotiate directly with all partners required to bring new business opportunities to market.
  • Coordinate go-to-market activities across functional teams.
  • Lead executive presentations required to gain support for new initiatives.
  • Apply knowledge and learn new markets essential in helping Samsung Pay meet its objectives.
  • Articulate financial institution needs and influence current and future product/capability roadmaps by leveraging partner input.
  • Identify, develop, connect and liaise with new business contacts across financial institutions.
  • Work with other internal teams to create a pipeline of opportunities that map to Samsung Pay’s overall objectives.
  • Work closely with marketing teams to develop marketing and promotion plans tailored to individual financial institutions.
  • Own communication and updates to all FI partner channels including updates of upcoming promotions, new product release cycles, feature updates etc.
  • Prioritize, organize, and participate in Fintech conferences advocating Samsung Pay.

The Director Financial Institutions is a trusted advisor, independent thinker, and demonstrated problem solver.   In addition, this leader possesses excellent communication skills, as well as critical problem solving skills.  Our ideal person is goal-oriented, well-organized and comfortable in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

  • Proven track record of success within the US payments industry, ideally 10+ years of experience and strong background with mobile payments
  • Extensive background in Sales & Marketing with a proven track record of new business development within financial institution inclusive of managing after sale
  • Expertise in partner management inclusive of working through complex contracts and managing strategic partnerships
  • Dynamic, engaging, and outgoing personality with the tenacity and commitment needed to nurture relationships through the sales process
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team decisively and positively
  • Experience with numbers and modeling or a pricing background considered a plus
  • Undergraduate degree; a relevant (MBA) post-graduate degree is desired. 
  • Understands corporate culture, politics, yet knows how to create innovations within the big company
  • Must be able and willing to travel
